In the heart of downtown St. Louis, Missouri is an attraction many tourists may initially overlook. City Garden is an urban garden and scupture park located along Market Street between 8th Street to the East and 10th Street to the West. The park is free and open daily from sunrise until 10pm.
I was recently back in my hometown of St. Louis, Missouri and I was invited to do someting I've never done, take a tour of the Anheuser-Busch Brewery. St. Louis is home to Anheuser-Busch, and US headquarters to AB-InBev. The brewery is one of AB's largest in terms of physical size and it's the largest in terms of volume of beer produced.
When I'm back in St. Loiuis visiting friends and family I usually book a room at the Hilton St. Louis at the Ballpark. This high rise in downtown St. Louis has been several hotels, including a former Marriott, but in its most recent incarnation it now fall into the Hilton family. The hotel has undergone a major facelift in the past few years and is now a sleek, modern hotel with a good list of amenities.
Lambert International is my hometown airport and I've seen the facility undergo some major changes over the years. Up until about ten years ago Lambert was one of the busiest airports in the US with more than 30 million passengers moving through its terminals in a single year. The airport used to be home to TWA and then a large hub for American after the buyout of TWA in 2001. Since then, the airport has fallen victim to airline consolidation, a difficult economy and a changing US airline market.
