Delta SkyClub Membership Changes


Delta is making changes to its membership fees for accessing Sky Club airport lounges.  In an e-mail to Sky Club members and other frequent fliers Delta announced they are raising fees and restricting access in an effort to deal with complaints of overcrowding.  I will admit, at peak times, and at hub airport Sky Clubs can be packed to standing room capacity.

Here are the changes:

Starwood and Delta Team Up

Delta and Starwood are teaming up to offer travelers some new perks.  Starting March 1, 2013 Delta Medallion Members and Starwood Preferred Gold and Platinum members will be able to take advantage of Crossover Rewards between the two companies.  Delta Medallions will earn SkyMiles for stays atStarwood properties and Starwood Preferred members will earn points for Delta purchases.

When you travel, register for loyalty programs.  Even if you think you may not travel on a specific airline frequently or stay at a specific hotel brand, it's good to sign up.  I've been a member of American Airlines AAdvantage program for years as well as US Airway's Divdend Miles.  However, in recent years I've focused much of my travel on Delta and I've come to know the SkyMiles program fairly well.
