I've reviewed Delta's First Class product on various aircraft, so this article is more of an update on service consistency and a little bit on the aircraft.  I'm fresh off of a trip to the Dominican Republic for a four night retreat with some of my staff.  I flew Delta from Reagan National Airport, through Atlanta to Punta Cana.  My return trip was the same in reverse.

New Planes

If you like new plane smell you'll like Delta's 737-900 fleet.  A couple of years ago Delta placed an order for 100 Boeing 737-900 aircraft.  The plane is the largest in Boeing's popular 737 line of single aisle short to medium haul aircraft.  While it's nice to see Delta adding new aircraft, this plane has some pros and cons which I'll dive into below.

American Airlines announced changed today to service at Washington Reagan National Airport in Arlington, VA (Washington, DC) and LaGuardia in New York.  The changes are the result of slot divestments that are part of the previously announced merger settlement American and US Airways made with the U.S. Department of Justice.  The merged airline must give up slots at DCA and LGA.

Travel at Random Anniversary: A Look Back

It's hard to believe, but it's been one year since we started Travel at Random.  In the past year we've travel around the globe, from hiking a glacier in Alaska to laying on a beach at Grace Bay in Turks and Caicos and we've been happy to have our loyal readers come along for the journey.

This article is going to take a look back at where we've been and some destinations you might have missed.  We're all about the adventure and proving some helpful reviews and tips along the way.

City Guide: Old Town Alexandria, VA

I want to share my tips and must sees for my own neighborhood, which is also a big tourist destination.  Old Town Alexandria is the historic section of the City of Alexandria which is just across the river from Washington, DC.  If you're a history buff there is much to see.  If you just like to shop and eat you're in luck as well.  Old Town is also home to some great hotels including the Lorien Hotel and Spa, the Monaco, and the Morrison House.
