Travel at Random Anniversary: A Look Back

It's hard to believe, but it's been one year since we started Travel at Random.  In the past year we've travel around the globe, from hiking a glacier in Alaska to laying on a beach at Grace Bay in Turks and Caicos and we've been happy to have our loyal readers come along for the journey.

This article is going to take a look back at where we've been and some destinations you might have missed.  We're all about the adventure and proving some helpful reviews and tips along the way.

Anchorage Part 1

Alaska started out as a trip solely to earn a couple thousand airline miles for a good price. We planned to stay only a day in order to avoid taking time off work. Our main destination was downtown Anchorage. Our original plan was to go in September, but the rates changed, and we opted for October instead. We left Friday in the late afternoon and headed for Alaska. We got in just around 6pm, the Airport was nice, clean and modern feeling, but with many elements that made it feel like you were in Alaska. For the first time in my life, there was absolutely no line for a rental car.

Review: Jack Sprat Girdwood, AK

Much to my surprise we discovered Jack Sprat while driving aimlessly around Girdwood, Alaska while looking for a place for Lunch.  I was in Alaska for a long weekend mileage run with Trevor, my partner in crime here at TAR.  It was Sunday in October and we were hungry.  We didn't know the area well and we were relying on Yelp to guide us to any eatery we could find.  Boy and I glad we stopped here.
