JetBlue Launches Electronic Boarding

Jetblue is now allowing passengers in some select cities to use electronic boarding passes.  Announced this week, version 2.0 of the airlines mobile app now allows travelers to download a copy of their boarding pass.  The e-boarding passes are now available in the following markets:

  • Boston (BOS)
  • Ft. Lauderdale (FLL)
  • Las Vegas (LAS)
  • Long Beach (LGB)
  • New York (JFK)
  • Orlando (MCO)
  • San Francisco (SFO)
  • San Juan (SJU)

Jetblue says it will rollout mobile boarding in other markets soon.  Jetblue's app is available for iPhones and iPod touch devices as well as Android phones.  For a tech friendly airlines this update is a long time coming.  Most major US airlines are provide e-boarding passes.

In addition to mobile boarding, version 2.0 will also provide:

  • Give passengers the ability to book flights using TrueBlue points
  • Provide timetables to view flight schedules
  • Airport terminal maps
  • Updated city guides
